Itinerary
Your holiday begins at Southampton airport, where you meet the Tour Manager and catch an early morning flight to Jersey. The largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey is surrounded by crystal clear waters, fringed with golden beaches and steeped in a long, rich history.
On arrival, we transfer to Jersey's capital, St Helier and step straight into island life with a guided walking tour led by a knowledgeable local expert. St Helier is a fascinating blend of British charm and deep-rooted French heritage, offering a unique cultural identity found nowhere else in the British Isles. Wander through charming streets and discover highlights including the bustling Central Market, the historic Parish Church of St Helier and the bronze statues celebrating Jersey's notable figures at the former Cattle Market. Along the way, indulge in authentic local tastings including traditional Jersey fudge, the famous Black Butter and locally brewed beer.
The rest of your afternoon is free to find lunch, explore St Helier and settle into our hotel overlooking Liberation Square, before our first dinner together at the hotel.

This trip was to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary,so we wanted to do something special, and this certainly was . From our first meeting with our tour manager Elizabeth to our farewell, her attention to detail and ensuring things were right for our group was brilliant. The Pomme d'Or hotel in Jersey is in a great location, and is a big part of the islands occupation history. We would like to thank GRJ, Elizabeth and the hotel for the marvellous welcome gift for our anniversary. The excursions around the island were very informative. Although the crossing to Guernsey was quite rough it was well worth it, with yet another informative island tour. The following day it was a much calmer crossing to Sark, and well worth the trip to step back in time to life at a different pace. Our Guernsey hotel was La Rocquettes yet another good quality hotel, but a little out of the town. Thanks to all at Great Rail Journeys (still amuses me that there were no trains involved) and thanks to both hotels staff.

Tour Manager was excellent, lovely people to travel with. Everything well organised. Hotels were lovely. We had a buffet dinner in Jersey which was outstanding. The Guernsey hotel was a set menu and was limited and the menu description on some meals were way out of what was served. Overall a great holiday.
