Surrounded by Colorado's Rocky Mountain peaks and the astounding beauty of the San Isabel National Forest, the Leadville Railroad offers a beautiful experience. Passengers join the scenic railway in Leadville, one of the highest elevated incorporated cities in North America and embark on a 21-mile round-trip expedition to the Continental Divide. During the two-and-a-half-hour trip, the colourful history of Colorado's mining past unfolds as the train climbs 1,000 feet over the Arkansas River Valley. Onboard narration complements the journey, recounting fascinating tales of the region while the vintage diesel engines traverse incredible landscapes.
